Art of Positive Thinking

"The art of positive thinking is mastered by those who desire a lifetime of joy and success. Successful people understand that thoughts are powerful and positive thoughts are life-changing."

Every action we take begins with a thought. All of our attitudes are merely the fruit of our thoughts. We rise no higher in life than our thoughts. Thoughts make us or break us.

We are constantly bombarded with negativity in our lives. Whether it comes from evening news or our co-workers there is no shortage of negative words and thoughts. That is why negative thinking comes so easily and spontaneously. You don’t have to learn negative thinking.

But the art of positive thinking must be learned and mastered as a lifetime skill. There is no single formula that will transform everyone into a positive thinker. You will be successful in maximizing motivation for all areas of your life only after you have learned to achieve positive thinking.

Although there is no formula to achieve positive thinking, here are some helpful positive thinking tips:

  • Wake up and get up. Don’t wake up in the morning, lie in bed, and start worrying about your day. These first thoughts of the day are very important. Get up and start moving around instead of laying and fretting.

  • Drive with Purpose. Many of us start our day in the car. Our drive to work can have a dramatic impact on the remainder of our day. We often drive mindlessly and before we arrive at our destination our mind has been filled with negative and critical thoughts. If you look around you’ll notice that most drivers aren’t positive thinkers.

Turn your drive time into a time you master the art of positive thinking. There are many audio programs that can help you achieve positive thinking even in the middle of stuck traffic.

Drive to work with the purpose of improving your thinking.

  • Treat every person you meet as the most important person on earth. This positive approach to others will change you and them.

  • Show a real interest in other people. Everyone wants to be heard and understood. You life will become much more positive and so will your thoughts if you will get sincerely interested in other people.

  • Count your blessings. We tend to focus on what we don’t have instead of what we do have. This has a tendency to make us negative. When we have an attitude of gratitude we become more positive in our thinking.

  • Keep bad days in perspective. We all have bad days. Sometimes these are really bad days and sometimes these last longer than a day or two. But these times will pass. This is a great time to fill our minds with positive thoughts, books, and quotes.

It would be great if we could read a book or take a class to learn a formula to become a positive thinker. Instead we spend a lifetime learning the art of positive thinking. When it comes to positive thinking, we all need to become great artists.
